When Is The “Right Time” To Sell an Investment Property?

It's a question all real estate investors eventually face: When does it make sense to sell an investment property? Obviously, the answer depends on a number of factors, including current market conditions, the length of your investment horizon, and your desired rate of return. In this blog post, we'll take a closer look at when it might be time to sell an income-producing property.

First, let's consider market conditions. If you're selling in a hot market where prices are rising rapidly, it may make sense to sell sooner rather than later. On the other hand, if prices are flat or falling, you may want to hold onto your property longer in order to wait for the market to rebound.

This may allow you to buy a property with more units or square footage, which ultimately upgrades your portfolio and ROI over the long haul.

Finally, consider your desired rate of return. If you're happy with a modest return, you may be more likely to sell sooner. But if you're aiming for a home run, you may be willing to wait longer for the perfect opportunity.

Ultimately, there's no easy answer to the question of when to sell an investment property. It depends on a variety of factors, and you'll need to weigh all of them carefully before making a decision.
